I have not updated this site for quite some time. I got in contact with Dr. Ramirez about three weeks ago and told him that I was leaving to move to Omaha, NE and he offered one last stem cell injection no charge. On January 26th I rolled to Dr. Ramirez' office one last time after riding the trolley to the border. He showed me the syringe of over 7 million stem cells and told me that they would inject 3 million cells into the spinal cord and inject the other 4 million cells into my feet to help the secondary nerves to grow. After injecting the 3 million cells my mid section spasmed which felt like my muscles were suffocating me and the doctors initially thought that I might be having an allergic reaction so they injected some antihistamines into my IV and some slight muscles relaxers. The muscle relaxers helped but a twitch in my lower abdomen persisted so they ended up giving me more muscle relaxers. I didn't develop any other symptoms of an allergic reaction so the concluded that the increased pressure on my spinal cord created the spasms. After a couple of hours Dr. Ramirez gave me a 90 day supply of nerve growth factors and took me back across the border. The next day we took off on our road trip to Omaha NE. The first day was painful due to my back aching but no other allergic symptoms. Since then I haven't had any allergic symptoms and I have had some interesting return. I guess when I quit taking my nerve growth factors I will comment on any lasting return that I get from the injection. I have decided that this past injection was my last and the remaining balance in the Legs4Greg fund will be donated to a charitable organization. Please comment on which organization you would like me to donate it to. Thank you again to all the donations from all the wonderful people that have donated to me and the Legs4Greg site.
Hello everyone. It's been awhile since I wrote on the blog. As far as additional recovery I really haven't had any, but as always I am still walking and working-out two days a week at the VA hospital. Alicia and I are planning on moving to Omaha, NE probably next spring so we are busy looking for a place to rent while we build a house out there. The main amount of my time has been spent on developing a new at-home insemination syringe called the "Life Choice Today" by our company GardMin Engineering LLC. This syringe uses the "Turke Baster Method" and makes it easier to conceive in the privacy of your own home.
Up until about a couple of weeks ago I have had partial recovery down to about my naval and this morning I was able to do a real "positive contraction" with my lower abs. This made me real happy since I haven't been able to see any major changes for quite a while.
When the boys were born I created 529 College Savings plans for each of them and my bank sent me a link to a site called U-Promise. This site is a collection of tons of different products and companies that will actually give you cash back when you buy their products through the internet and there are about 5 or 6 different grocery stores that give you cash back when you buy certain items at their stores(not online). They track it through your store card. Enfamil baby formula is one of them. We just bought two cans of formula from Ralphs and it showed up the cash back showed up the next day in our account! The minimum addition amount for the 529 savings account is $50 so when our account reaches the minimum the U-Promise site then transfers that money into that account. It's a neate program. I buy tons of stuff off the internet and all you have do for the grocery stores is input your Albertsons/Vons/Ralphs/CVS cards and the site does everything automatically. If you have kids it's a pretty easy way to save for college. If you don't want to create your own account and want to donate the proceedings to the boys here is a link.
